The captain of India, Rohit Sharma, has denied going to any meetings with head coach Rahul Dravid and chairman of selectors Ajit Agarkar to decide on the T20 dafabet World Cup schedule.
Two major points were discussed during the two-hour meeting that Rohit, Dravid, and Agarkar had a few days prior in Mumbai: whether Virat Kohli should open with captain Rohit in dafabet apps the Playing XI, and whether Hardik Pandya should bowl more frequently to ensure a spot in India’s T20 World Cup squad.
But instead of taking these stories seriously, Rohit called it “fake news,” saying he hasn’t met anyone and advising people not to believe anything they don’t hear directly from him, Agarkar, Dravid, or the IPL WIN.
“I’ve not had any meetings. In an interview with Michael Vaughan and Adam Gilchrist for the Club Prairie Fire podcast, Rohit said, “Ajit Agarkar is playing golf somewhere in Dubai, and Rahul Dravid is actually watching his kids play in Bengaluru.”
“While he [Dravid] was in Mumbai, he persuaded the son to play at the CCI on a red-soil wicket. That’s all there is to it. To be very honest, we haven’t met. I believe that everything in this day and age is phony unless you hear it directly from me, Rahul, Ajit, or someone else representing BCCI in front of the media.”
Every Indian T20 World Cup match is extra important since there are too many players vying for too few spots, and the BCCI is anticipated to announce the team sometime in the first week of May. There has been conjecture over Kohli’s spot in the 15 until about a month ago. According to one rumor, he might just slip down the rankings as youthful players Rinku Singh and Yashasvi Jaiswal take precedence.
